EDUCATION
I began my formal beauty education with Gene Juarez-Seattle in 2002. After finishing beauty school, I then completed the Advanced Training Salon with Gene Juarez, studying hair color. I then spent 18 more months completing the advanced training, with Gary Manual Salon-Seattle. I have studied with Wella, Davines, Bumble and Bumble, Logics, Aveda, Kevin Murphy, Unite, Heather Chapman, Ashlee Norman, Joseph Dimaggio, Sally Rogerson, Vidal Sassoon, Hot Heads hair extensions, PONY education, and Brazilian Blowout.
SPECIALTIES AND STRENGTHS
My goal is to always make all clients feel welcome, relaxed, and comfortable. My specialty is catering to the individual. Before doing a major change, I always like to consider one’s suitability, lifestyle, as well as face shape, and natural skin and eye tones. I want to create looks that grow out soft and well. Using KEVIN.MURPHY hair color allows me to do this easily. Their range of high-performance, multi-tonal shades allow for endless creativity, and delivers the most natural-looking color results every time. Color is ultimately my favorite! It brings me great pleasure to brighten up, tone down, cover grey, jazz it up, and add some pop! The last decade I have been loving the art of balayage/hair painting, and playing around with the progression. I love how personalized it is to the individual. Balayage can be more natural looking, or intense, it’s whatever you decide! A Cezanne smoothing treatment, as well as extensions are two hot ticket tools that can give people hair they thought they’d never have- everyone, including myself, feels warm and fuzzy inside after these big changes! I also have had extensive training in men’s cuts/barbering. I like to help men work with their natural texture and give them the tools they need to achieve a styled, yet natural look.
ABOUT ME
Travel has always been one of my great loves — getting lost somewhere far away, embracing the unexpected, and sharing it all with my husband, who's always been just as game for the adventure. These days, with two little ones at home, those exotic trips have taken a backseat to a quieter chapter — and honestly, I've come to love it just as much. Right now, "getting away" looks more like a peloton ride before the house wakes up, a hike when we can sneak one in, or a quiet afternoon in the sun with my family nearby.
Between the salon and being a mom, my world has gotten smaller in the best way. You'll usually find me in the kitchen trying out a new recipe, curled up with a good drama that gets me right in the feels, or catching a few quiet minutes to myself with music that matches whatever mood the day brought. Being a Washington native, I still find my way to the outdoors when I can — hiking, time on the water, or just soaking up the sun when it decides to show up.
What hasn't changed is my love for this work. I make it a priority every year to keep learning and growing in my craft, staying current with new techniques and trends. Whether I'm welcoming a new client or catching up with someone I've known for years, that connection is still my favorite part of the job. I feel genuinely lucky to get to do work I love, day after day.
